Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionThe role involves performing laboratory preparations and analyses to provide accurate technical information. You will need to master test methods, SOPs, and instrument calibrations, and be able to train others. Responsibilities include entering data into the LIMS, maintaining lab stock, preparing samples, performing calculations, and assisting with record-keeping and equipment maintenance. You will also procure samples and sterilize equipment as needed.Responsibilities
Understand and follow laboratory management system policies and procedures, as well as laboratory safety policies and procedures.
Receive and prepare incoming samples for analysis and laboratory supplies and equipment.
Receive laboratory supplies and equipment; distribute to laboratory staff members.
Collect, clean, and distribute glassware for laboratory staff.
Perform daily temperature verification of refrigerators, freezers, and other lab equipment.
Accurately input sample information and testing requirements into LIMS.
Assist senior laboratory staff with extraction, digestion, and other sample preparation for complex analyses.
Follow written procedures to perform analytical testing on laboratory samples.
Maintain accurate records of all test work in laboratory notebooks; input and extract information to worksheets and instrument computers.
Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment.
Maintain a clean work area.

Work EnvironmentFirst shift, Monday - Friday. Standing for up to 8 hours a day. Use of laboratory equipment – ovens, balances, furnaces, blenders, centrifuges. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Pushing/pulling laboratory carts. Work with solvents/acids/bases in fume hoods. Work in cold rooms/freezers.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
