We are looking for an Associate Food Labeling Specialist to join our R&D/Science & Regulatory Affairs team in Omaha, Nebraska.This is a great opportunity to begin or expand your career in Food Labeling. As an Associate Food Labeling Specialist , reporting to a Principal Food Labeling Specialist, you will review, update, and approve label designs for Marketing and Brand Design. You will develop mandatory labeling information and ensure compliance with federal regulations. You will work across departments on labeling related and compliance matters.Position Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Government Affairs, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Nutrition, Marketing, Product Development and others on U.S. food labeling guidance and regulation interpretation

Participate in team brainstorming to develop new product names and claims, and provide answers to labeling compliance-related questions

Participate in team training on new or changed labeling regulations and trends and help improve labeling processes for consistency

Obtain USDA/FSIS label approval, temporary approvals and extensions for U.S. products

Review all product related artwork and ensure it meets food regulatory and internal requirements

Develop mandatory label copy which includes product name, weight statement, ingredient statement, allergen declaration, kosher, nutrition facts panel and claims which meet government requirements and standard of identities. This includes ensuring compliance with all label related health and wellness claims

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related field required

1+ year of food industry experience in labeling or regulatory affairs required

Working knowledge of FDA and USDA food label regulations and documentation requirements

Experience working with multiple database systems and networking to get information required to complete tasks

Good report writing skills

Working knowledge of food product development and processes

Understanding of food safety and allergens

Experience with different food formats

We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future.

This is an onsite role in the office Monday - Thursday with some flexibility. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
