McCook Creative District Coordinator
McCook, NE
This position performs a wide range of administrative and support activities for the Creative District program in McCook, Nebraska.
1. Program Administration and Strategic Implementation
Carry out day-to-day activities and communication.
Coordinate the execution of the strategic plan.
Coordinate McCook Core Team meetings by preparing an agenda and taking meeting minutes.
2. Financial Oversight and Fundraising
Maintain the district's budget and financial stability while supporting ongoing financial operations.
Solicit sponsorship funds, grant management, and grant writing, along with donor engagement.
3. Community Engagement and Partnerships
Connect while managing relationships with local artists and creatives.
Establish a communication structure to amplify their voices.
Create and manage professional development opportunities for artists and creatives.
Promoting partnerships with existing arts organizations & businesses.
Attend community meetings as MCD’s representative.
4. Event and Project Management
Responsible for the administration, coordination, and implementation of public projects, including but not limited to:
Third Thursday
Mural projects
Downtown Revitalization Plan
Coordinate events and activities in collaboration with festival and event organizers within the district.
Develop and implement policies that ensure the delivery of quality arts and humanities programming as well as community events
5. Marketing, Outreach, and Public Relations
Public education and community outreach.
Marketing.
Social media.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with core responsibilities such as program administration, financial oversight, project management, or community engagement; applicants should demonstrate experience in at least some of these areas-
Professional, organized, and detail-oriented, ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Google Suite products, along with knowledge of: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work independently and also cooperatively in a team setting.
Able to prioritize tasks and handle unexpected shifts in workflow.
General knowledge of creative industry terminology; appreciation for art and culture.
Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram).
Ability to maintain a professional image and positive attitude at all times.
Contract Labor- approx. 30 hours per week. $25/hr.
Position currently funded through December 2026 with a potential for renewal pending resources.
