Summary:The Supervisor ¿ Maintenance Services is responsible for providing effective leadership, direction and management for the safe performance of maintaining NCS, NOS, Peaking units and construction activities at FCS. Provides day-to-day direction to assigned personnel and contractor resources and ensures compliance with all applicable station standards and regulatory requirements. Plan and complete all needed preventive maintenance. Plan, coordinate and complete all station outages. Responsibilities:

Organizes and directs the activities of craft personnel performing maintenance at NOS, NCS, Peaking Units and construction activities at FCS

Responsible for strict adherence to OPPD¿s safety policies, maintenance and operational procedures, electrical codes, environmental regulations, OSHA regulations, and labor contract provisions.

Responsible and accountable for ensuring that maintenance and construction activities are conducted in accordance with applicable station standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide maintenance support on a 24 hour on-demand basis for emergencies involving the generating stations to ensure timely and effective maintenance solutions to equipment issues.

Accountable for self-identifying and reporting programmatic or performance weaknesses and seeking additional assistance when appropriate.

Effectively apply OPPD¿s Management Leadership Practices (MLP¿s) in planning and assigning the work of staff members. Build and maintain a competent team through effective recruiting, selection and ongoing development.

Managerial Planning ¿ Determine how to achieve the goals of the unit/team through effective metrics development, individual task assignment, seeking input from your team, and employee development

Managerial Meetings ¿ Conduct managerial meetings with staff on a regular and predictable schedule to provide coaching opportunities/ context setting/ development/ clarity of task / feedback ¿

Coaching/Feedback for Competency of Role ¿ Provide coaching and feedback opportunities to staff to continuously improve their competency in the work of their role

PEA/PPR ¿ Conduct and complete performance appraisal conversations and documentation requirements per defined schedule.

Ensures that all activities associated with PeopleSoft timekeeping for Maintenance Services are performed correctly and in a timely fashion.

As line owner, ensures the District¿s training programs, to include indenturing, final written and oral exams, and maintenance of all records and other hands-on assessments, meet department expectations. Additionally.

Ensures line acceptance of new training programs, to include re-enforcement of station expectations

Ensures department identified gaps are promptly analyzed, and when required, training solutions created and evaluated

Supports, to include resolving any conflict, with the scheduling of all training activities related to the specific maintenance program

Acts as liaison between employees, management, training, to include the Safety & Technical Training Department, regarding apprentice programs and apprentice performance

Qualifications

Required:

Requires extensive maintenance/construction experience preferable at a power generating or heavy industrial facility.

Require good interpersonal, management and administrative skills, a positive attitude and the ability to effectively communicate with others.

A minimum of eight (8) years power plant-related experience in Maintenance, Construction, Engineering, or Operations is required.

A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience is required.

Ability to manage multiple projects and execute assigned projects while working with other professionals in a team-based environment.

Must have the ability to read and analyze blueprints schematics.

Shall be required to carry a cell phone

Desired:

Bachelor¿s Degree

Knowledge of maintenance management and contract administration

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization with proven ability to develop lasting and effective professional relationships.
