Description We are in the manufacturing industry, located in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States, and are currently offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent. In this role, you will not only perform typical purchasing functions but also manage logistics and facilities, schedule repairs, and conduct cost analytics. Responsibilities: Oversee the purchasing of materials in line with the company's needs and goals. Plan and coordinate purchasing strategies that align with the company's mission. Manage facilities to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Schedule and oversee repairs to maintain the functionality and integrity of the workplace. Conduct cost analytics to identify areas for financial improvement. Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless procurement processes. Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the company's short and long-term goals are met. Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure supply sustains production. Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain the quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with terms of contracts. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent in the Manufacturing industry. Demonstrable expertise in purchasing materials and purchasing planning. Proficiency in facilities management and facilities planning. Ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery times. Strong knowledge of supply chain management and procurement procedures. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in using various software and technologies for inventory management. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to streamline procurement processes. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management will be a plus.
