Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Blair, NE / Chattanooga, TN (Onsite day one in any of these 2 locations)

Duration: 6+ months contractNote: The candidate must have recent experience in the manufacturing domain in their latest project. Job Overview:Design and develop manufacturing procedures, tooling fixtures, process sheets and fabrication print that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safetyWork centre focus to remove all non-value-added steps by providing (including but not limited to) documented process, required information, required tools, required components, logistics and required proceduresUtilize PDCA principle to validate and maintain all manufacturing processesProvide production line support including, but not limited to, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiriesGenerate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and proceduresUtilize LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvementAssist in identifying equipment needs on the production floor to include but not limited to: sourcing by supporting Purchasing department, installation of equipment, measuring ROI, and tracking/proving ROI dataPerform cost analysis of engineering projects assigned with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing without impairment of qualityWork with supervisors to train operators how to manufacture products, proper material routing and handling methods, new equipment/fixture operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, among other areas as well as assist in investigating and solving production problemsReview all production order documentation for accuracy, including bill of materials and routings within the ERP SystemWork closely with Design Engineering and quality department for successful new product launchInterface with other department resources (i.e. sales, customer service, purchasing, quality etc.) in Design Reviews and other meetings to facilitate product launch and sustaining engineeringFollow up with manufacturing to advise on first manufacturing run effectiveness.  Qualifications:Education:  Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related field.Experience of 2+ years in manufacturing, heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering discipline.Experience with process and equipment validation.AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.
