Recycling Works (Nonprofit) Recycling Driver, Part Time $23/hr
Recycling Works is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, problem-solving team-player to drive our F250 and trailer for two days a week schedule (T & W or T & TH). There will be opportunities for additional work hours, as we host events and build infrastructure to support our recycling efforts.
We want a good person that will become a core member of our Recycling Works team and an essential part of our Missoula community.

We are a non-profit organization that is the largest glass recycler in MT and the largest aluminum recycler in Missoula. We divert a million pounds of useful material from the landfill and raise $30,000 for grants to support Montana public school kids every year.
As our new driver, you would pick up glass, cardboard, cans, plastics, and paper at about forty homes across Missoula on Tuesdays, and collect from six to eight aluminum recycling sheds on Wednesday or Thursday.
Requirements:
The position requires the ability to stay on one’s feet for extended periods of time, lift to 80 pounds, enter and exit the F250 up to 200 times per day, and tolerate inclement weather conditions (chain usage will be required during the winter). A clean driving record is required; preferably 3 years’ citation-free in Montana, no DUIs.
Responsibilities:
- Complete routes within designated pickup times (8am-6pm), ensuring safe operation & efficient sorting of materials
- Regularly unload collection materials from truck and trailers, ensuring an empty space prior to the next day’s route
- Preview route beforehand to check for any bins needed for drop-offs for that day, and ensure bins going out in the field are clean and professional-looking; pick up bins as needed and store in proper area for later cleaning
- Accurately track, update, and communicate with the Operations Manager regarding client pickup status, collection issues, or other client needs
- Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays
- Use navigation applications to determine the best route
- Interact with clients in field professionally at all times
- Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled, cleared of trash after shift, and ready for use
- Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed
