Prospect Construction is currently seeking a Structural/Mechanical Superintendent to join our team based out of our Montana Office.
Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor that specializes in water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures/facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations/process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems. Prospect began as a General Contractor in 1998, with our first office location in Puyallup Washington. Over the last few decades, Prospect has coupled its expertise in complex projects with its vast level of self-performance to grow into one of the premier treatment plant contractors in the Northwest. This continued growth has allowed Prospect to bring our expertise into new geographical regions, with the establishment of our office in Missoula, Montana in the Fall of 2020 and the opening of our Sheridan, Wyoming Office in the Summer of 2023.

The Project Superintendent is solely responsible for and will be held accountable for the safe and timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. The Project Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field and provide work performed in accordance with plans and specifications. Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e., PM, engineer, consultant, owner) for mutual resolution prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. The Project Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion, gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
Creates task and phase specific work plans for all key elements of work on the project.
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
Communicate with project team regarding RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
Ensure that subcontractors are executing and complying with contracted scope of work as well as complying with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
Walk project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning and perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work, Preside at pre-construction meetings with each subcontractor.
Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of Five (5) years of verifiable heavy civil experience required.
Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction experience a plus.
Software proficiency in Blue Beam, Microsoft office (Excel, word, project & Outlook) is also preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ·
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
Provide directions to and resolve problems among subcontractors and vendors.
Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
Communicate using the following tools: telephone, fax machine, written logs, email, computer, smart phone, digital camera.
Physically able to safely lift up to 100 lbs.
Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
Abide by Prospect Safety and Health policies, monitor jobsite general health and safety.
