Inviting applications for a part-time, afternoon position of Teacher’s Assistant in a Christian Montessori classroom for 3-6 year old children. Offering $17-20/hour DOE, for 10-15 hours/week between 12/1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. We follow the academic school calendar, from September 2, 2025 through June 10, 2026. One to two training days will be scheduled the week prior to September 2.
Position Description:
The role of the assistant in a Montessori classroom is to support the lead teacher in creating and facilitating a joyful and peaceful learning environment for children. This includes:
● Modeling loving and respectful behavior
● Aiding children in gaining independence
● Observation duties: recording activities and observed patterns of behavior and sharing these with the Lead teacher
● Helping to maintain a clean and well-prepared learning environment
● Guiding small groups or individual students at the guidance and direction of the Lead Teacher
● Performing cleaning and stocking duties in the kitchen, bathrooms, outdoors and classroom
● Providing attentive supervision indoors and out (and being comfortable outside in all kinds of weather)
● Making classroom materials as directed by the Lead Teacher

Our school was co-founded ten years ago by the current Head of School/Co-lead Elementary Teacher (ages 6 to 12 years) and by the Lead Teacher of the Primary program (ages 3 to 6 years). Requirements:
All employees are required to pass a background check
Register with the MT Early Childhood Project (ECP) within 30 days of hire
Take the trainings required by the state within 90 days of hire - information provided in hiring process
Have current CPR/First Aid certification (If you do not yet have this we will sponsor your certification)
Be able to lift 30 pounds
