This position is responsible for the financial-related activities of the organization, including cash management, accounts payable, payroll, and budget preparation. To be successful in this role, the individual must be an effective communicator and committed to working in a collaborative environment, must have the ability to think strategically, possess strong analytical and organizational skills, and have impeccable ethics.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
-Maintains confidentiality as it pertains to all financial and business information.
-Assists in cash management daily activities including monitoring cash balances and the timely reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
-Protects assets by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures and internal controls.
-Assures company complies with federal, state, and local business requirements.
-Responsible for providing financial information that is reliable and accurate.
-Monitors credit card balances and expenditures for employer-issued credit cards.
-Reconciles and reports transaction activity from Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, including PayPal and Shopify.
-Coordinates the approval of expense reports and invoices with multiple individuals and offices.
-Ensure timely and accurate payments to all vendors.
-Ensures adequate record-keeping for financial and non-financial information.
-Maintain and reconcile inventory records for small goods.
-Maintain fixed asset schedules for operational assets.
-Coordinates the month-end closing process with the office of the Trustee and ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
-Assist with ongoing 1099 review and annual preparation.
-Coordinates the review and approval of timesheets and PTO reporting in coordination with the Senior Operations Manager.
-Collaborates with leadership to identify financial/business needs and seek various best- business-practice solutions.
-Assists with the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
-Prepares specialized reports including, but not limited to, status reports, analysis of financial condition, and construction progress reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
-Completes special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
-Bachelors or Masters Degree in accounting or finance.
-Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management about the business's finances.
-Ability to prioritize and work independently.
-Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to others’ needs.
-Outstanding follow up and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
-Must be able to work in a collaborative client service environment.
-Full Cycle Accounting experience with strong debit/credit skills.
-Must be able to explain financial data to non-financial persons in the organization effectively.
-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-Proficient with data analysis.
-Ability to learn and use other software tools as required.

Students learn from Tibetan masters and Western teachers and receive support from a vibrant community. We serve students on every step of the path, from those exploring meditation for the first time to more experienced students all the way through traditional lama training for those who want to take it that far.
We offer various learning programs, including in-person teachings, retreats, small group learning, bi-coastal retreats, and online courses.
