REPORTS TO: Store Leader / Asst. Store Leader

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt ? Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides overall supervision, coordination and implementing of all store policies related to this office's responsibilities. Following policies and set standards, accuracy, and organization are essential to insure the cash flow for the store. Proper cash flow insures the facilities, equipment and great merchandising techniques reach their potential.

SAFETY AND SANITATION

Is aware of and adheres to all safety, security and accident prevention procedures including using common sense and good judgment to maintain the highest level of safety for self, other team members and guests. Reports unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly and determines appropriate action within guidelines. Maintains the equipment and physical appearance of the department, including selling and back room areas, to ensure they meet company maintenance, sanitation and safety standards, as well as the government regulatory agencies guidelines at all times. Continually assists in maintaining proper physical appearance of outside perimeters of store to assure cleanliness and safety of all. Knows proper procedures for and immediately reports all equipment problems, spills, accidents or emergencies to the department merchant or a member of the executive staff. Have knowledge of the layout and the location of safety and emergency equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Consistently participates in open communication with team members on a regular basis promoting a high level of morale within departments and store. Shares and accepts ideas for department and store profitability and guest service. Continually solicits guest feedback to help improve sales and service.

2. Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives. Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Promotes a harassment-free environment, stays aware of possible hostile environment concerns and immediately reports any potential legal situation to management.

3. Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members. Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards.

4. Enforces the following of bookkeeping procedures in all departments by working with management, department merchants and all team members involved in this process.

5. Balances books, prepares deposits, and accounts for cash, handling and counts money accurately and in a timely manner.

6. Through monthly meetings and notes, keeps channels of communication open between top management and store operations regarding bookkeeping functions.

7. Maintains adequate and appropriate department records and supplies at all times; including report , tickets, passes, licenses, coupons, checks, billing, etc.

8. Has full ownership of store data input/CTN preparation and daily maintenance of T/A.

9. Identifies bookkeeping errors made by others; corrects them and provides retaining.

10. Provides a professional example for all team members to follow.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

COMMUNICATION: Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.

COMPUTER: Some computer skills necessary

EDUCATION: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or related job experience and/or training are required.

EQUIPMENT: Required to use and operate computer, ten key, cash register, fax, cash counters, etc.

EXPERIENCE Previous experience as a bookkeeper, cashier or other accounting fields required. Leadership skills required.

MATH: Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages required. An understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, etc. are preferred.

MINIMUM AGE: 18 years of age.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend; hands to fingers to handle or feel: repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl. Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting. Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders required.

Required to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

REASON ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern.
