ROLE DESCRIPTON
The Metal Fabrication Sales Estimator, working in concert with the department head, is responsible for accurately estimating, quoting and the project management of metal structures and components for a variety of products and industries. This role requires the development of close working relationships with both new and existing customers, architects, contractors. Close working relationships must be developed with internal cross-functional departments to develop competitive pricing analysis, smooth execution of quality product manufacture and installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Responsible for providing timely and accurate cost estimates of labor and material calculations to customers in a wide and diverse range of manufacturing and fabrications
Work collaboratively with department heads, engineering and operations to manage projects thru completion stages, conforming to drawings and customer specifications.
Manage customer expectations through communication of capabilities, capacities, lead times and modifications.
Analyzes blueprints, drawings, specifications and other documents to prepare time, cost, labor estimates for customers.
Understands project logistics and project schedule.
Work with procurement to analyze and secure competitive supplier quotes.
Coordinate with department heads the evaluation of margin potential, project risks, project fit and competitive environment.
Responsible for all components of estimating spreadsheets including verifying correct labor hours are assigned to the proper tasks, labor rates are accurate, internal cost allocations, transport and other services not performed by the company.
Work collaboratively with sales and marketing team to bring in new work while maintaining customer base.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
To effectively carry-out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience is required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years in general estimating, engineering principles, methods of fabrications, metal fabricating machinery.
Possesses strong technical background and working knowledge in metal fabrications for multiple processes (i.e., welding, cutting, punching, forming etc.)
Ability to create/read/interpret drawings, plans, specifications, designs and engineering prints.
Experience and general background in construction knowledge desirable
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the Job position the following skills are required:
COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience with basic computer systems
Proficient with Microsoft Operating systems as well as MS Excel and Word
Experience in E2 Shop Solutions, Procor and Builders Trend helpful

Ability to read and write in English
Read and interpret documents such as contract language, technical specifications, procedure manuals, instruction procedures
