Farm Mechanic and Operational Support position
This position will be responsible for general and detailed maintenance and repair as needed on all farm equipment, tractors, combines, truck, and support autos, as well as small motor equipment. This position will also support / operate in farm and trucking operations as needed.
This position will work with, take directions, provide input, and have direct report to the owner.
Applicant should have experience or knowledge in the following areas;
- Farm equipment general lube and filter maintenance, bearings, brakes and ware part replacement in various pieces of equipment.
- Semi-truck and trailer maintenance, air brakes and suspension
- Automotive maintenance including electrical & Air Conditioning
- Small engine service
- Welding and fabricating skills
- Pivot knowledge helpful, but not necessary
Base of operations will be from a large modern heated shop facility adequality tools and equipment to perform responsibilities, including floor hoists, bulk oil systems, steam cleaner with wash aprons and floor drains, and separate fully supplied welding, fabricating and metal storage area, etc.
Applicants must have / provide the following information.
- Valid and clean driver license and dependable vehicle
- Adequate Educational background
- Resume’ with relevant work history and work references
- CDL Helpful but not a requirement.
Applicants must be able to physically perform the lifting and mobility requirements of a mechanic’s position. Must be able to multi-task different projects and tasks with time and operational efficiency.
Compensation package includes competitive hourly rate DOE ($30-$40 or equivalent) IRA Simple, annual wage increase based on performance, scheduled vacation time off.
Housing is available, but living on farm is not a requirement.
3 excellent School systems within 10 miles of farm, including an advanced K-8 country school with 100 students attending. 35 miles from Great Falls on highway.
