Sous chef at Fly Fishing Lodge on the Missouri

We are a full service fly fishing outfitter in Montana and operate multiple all-inclusive lodges in different locations across the state. We are looking for a candidate working in a small team that focuses on providing outstanding service to small groups of 8-12 guests at a time. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of kitchen experience to work under our executive chef. Candidates with culinary training or some previous experience in preparing meals in a fine dining atmosphere are preferred. The sous chef will collaborate with the executive chef on meal planning and advance food prep. The sous chef will also independently execute breakfasts and dinners when the executive chef is off duty. This can either be part time, or can be a full time position that extends to assisting with general lodge management (hosting, bar tending, etc). The lodge season is from May through October.

Candidates with local lodging are preferred if part time but for a full time position lodging on site may be an option. In addition to a competitive salary candidates will also receive significant gratuities. Missouri Cliffs Lodge is located near the Dearborn exit between Craig and Cascade.

Qualifications:

-At least 2 years of kitchen experience preferred

-Culinary training preferred but not required if real world experience is satisfactory

-Must be have experience in various cooking techniques and food preparation methods, including some familiarity with baking/pastries in a scratch cooking environment

-Good communication skills and the comfort to interact with guests in an open kitchen environment

-Familiar with safe food handling and safety with training in ServSafe or similar program

Responsibilities:

-Assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing daily culinary program

-Assist Executive Chef in advance prep

-Execute meals independently

-Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented in a timely manner

-Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment

-Expected hours 40-50 per week

Benefits:
