The Perch is a vintage and upcycled furniture shop over on northside of town across street from wild crumb and behind altar cycles. We are looking for 2 people to run the front counter. We are going to have limited open hours Friday and Saturday 11-4 every week. We think this would be a great gig for a maker or creator of smaller things as you would have time to work on your own projects and could sell them in the store fee free and would be a small commitment at 20ish hours/month.
Responsibilities:
- greet customers, handle checkout
- Do light cleaning (sweeping/vacuuming/ dusting) at beggining of day- takes like 10/15 min
- Be able to assist customers and owners in loading and unloading furniture. We move like 3-4 big pieces/ week generally and can always take drawers out so nothing too horrible
- Be able to put store back together after pieces sell in a nice way :)
- Bonus if you love vintage furniture and knickknacks and can speak to some of that history
Pay will be $15/hr for front counter-ing but if we find someone we really click with that maybe wants to do more in the future would definitely be up to paying more! If not a maker could also just be someone that has homework, etc. — there just isn’t a ton to do at the front beyond checkout and chatting with customers now that our workshop isn’t connected to retail space so having an activity to do is good but need to be able to be interrupted by customers :)
Send a blurb, resume, instagram, whatever really to us and we can chat! Thanks for reading
