Join Sports Facilities and be part of the support team for the 8,000 seat Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, the 20,000 seat Bobcat Stadium, Shroyer Gymnasium, the Bobcat Tennis Center, 7th & Kagy fields, and the outdoor track.
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Custodial Supervisor II serves as part of the Sports Facilities management team and ensures the on-site supervision and coordination of custodial activities for Sports Facilities buildings. This working manager position has duties including:
Oversees the work and activities of the custodial staff to ensure assignments are completed in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Directly supervises (hires, schedules, trains etc) the custodial team of 7 full-time staff, 3 part-time, staff 5-10 student staff, and up to 50 temporary staff/student club members during large events or athletic games.
Ensures the appropriate numbers of staff are scheduled on regular work days and for events.
Maintains and has a working knowledge of all equipment and infrastructure necessary to clean a multi-use facilities including.
Maintains chemical and equipment inventory control and makes purchases as necessary.
Develops and implements standard operating procedures and conducts regular quality inspections.
Researches industry innovations and forecasts needs of facilities and users.
Troubleshoots and solves building/facility issues.
Effectively manages staff overtime during busy periods.
Actively participates during set-up and tear-down of athletic events, concerts/shows, and meeting room set-ups and turn-a-rounds for all other types of events as needed.
Works as part of the management team on short and long range planning.
And actively participates as part of the team while performing other duties in support of the department’s mission.
