QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Bachelor Degree in engineering
Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Strong computer skills
Background in or practical working knowledge of all phases of natural gas and electric operations
General knowledge of the engineering, construction and operation of natural gas and electric transmission and distribution systems
Knowledge of Company Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and their application and working knowledge of PSC rules and tariffs and their application to customers
Ability to supervise and direct the activities of several functions, direct reports, contractors, and coordinate diverse activities, delegate responsibilities efficiently
Ability to promote and maintain a positive working environment
Effective administration and leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to take "on call duties" as assigned and available for other after hour assignments as situations dictate
Ability to lift materials up to 30 pounds
Ability to travel up to 25% of time, mostly within the division; little to some overnight
Ability to pass an employment physical, drug test and background check
A PE or the ability to acquire one within 18 months is preferred
Labor relations experience is desirable
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Ensure a safe working environment for all employees within their reporting responsibility
Work closely with local Operations and Engineering departments to ensure that work is done on schedule and as efficiently as possible
Work with Central Construction, Wildfire Operations, and Asset Management departments on work plan development and execution
Ensure that all work is done in compliance with the NorthWestern Energy Safety Manual and other appropriate codes, standards and processes
Ensure Construction Department operates within the expense budget and capital projects are completed as planned and within budget parameters
Lead in day to day operations and be a change agent with skills and experience for innovation and implementation of new programs and processes
Community involvement in civic organizations and internal programs is encouraged
Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.$97,000 - $145,400 annually, depending on experience.
