You may view our sustainability report located athttp://sustainability.doerun.com/.The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support environmental compliance as a subject matter expert in environmental regulations. The Environmental Engineer will work with EHS and operations staff to coordinate projects, obtain permits, and design processes to facilitate environmental compliance.This position will be located at Viburnum, Missouri.We Offer:

Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or other related field

Experience in environmental projects, permitting (air, water, RCRA) and compliance, preferred.

Environmental reporting experience (NPDES, EIQ, TRI, DMR, Greenhouse Gas, Tier II), preferred.

Valid, current drivers license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.

Regulatory research, technical writing of permitting documents.

Project management skills

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with AutoCAD preferred.

Budgeting experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

Develop and drive environmental based projects to completion while ensuring all operational and safety aspects are considered during development, implementation and commissioning of each project.

Obtain environmental permits for company projects including the following: determination of permit applicability, preparation of permit applications and modification submissions, negotiation of permit terms, and preparation of facility specific plans as required by permit and regulation.

Interact with regulators, facility staff, and facility leadership as a subject matter expert for environmental regulations and requirements in order to facilitate site compliance.

Keep informed of and communicate as required, new and emerging environmental regulations that do or could pertain to the company.

Develop and conduct employee training to support environmental stewardship and compliance.

Evaluate and develop site practices and procedures to continuously improve environmental compliance and stewardship.

Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical and Lifting:

Regularly required to work in outdoor weather and underground mining conditions, wear PPE including but not limited to respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Occasion lly required to work in confined spaces, wet, humid conditions (non-weather), vibration, and working at heights with fall protection. Occasionally exposed to loud noise. Frequently, work is performed in a standard office setting.

Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, and hear; occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Frequently requires driving. Rarely requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.

Frequently required to lift up to 5 pounds.
