Member Services Representative

POSITION SUMMARY

As a successful Member Service Representative, you will build and maintain strong member relationships. You will complete routine teller transactions, receive and process membership, checking and loan applications, open new services, determine member needs and cross-sell additional financial services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Focus on the member, providing efficient service and creating a positive, actively engaged experience while assisting in completion of financial transactions

Counsel members and assess their needs, recommending appropriate products and services (i.e. Shares, Checking Accounts, Certificates, IRAs, etc.) to meet those needs

Answer all inbound calls and correspondence responding promptly to all member questions, concerns and inquiries

Cross-sell additional products and services to members

Balance cash drawer when scheduled at a teller station and make settlement of the days activities

Verify day-to-day ATM deposits and balance when necessary

Ensure members are aware of all terms, conditions and collateral held on the note and disclosure when disbursing loan funds

Maintain member and credit union confidentiality at all times

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in a customer service position, preferably in a financial institution, which included duties such as operating and balancing a cash drawer and/or providing face-to-face customer assistance preferred, but not required

Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays

Must have reliable transportationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, work and interact with others

Working knowledge of all credit union products and services, including, but not limited to credit granting criteria, documentation required for each type of loan and the computation of interest rates

The ability to evaluate problems and make independent decisions following established credit union policies and procedures

Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and member service oriented

Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Ability to operate computer applications

Intermediate mathematical skills required (i.e. calculations, use of decimals to compute ratios and percentages, fractions, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop/crouch/squat, use hands or fingers repetitively, reach at or below shoulder level and twist at waist

Must be able to exert up to 10lbs of force, occasionally, to lift, carry, push, move and pull objects

Light work usually requires walking or standing frequently
