We look forward to receiving your application!Position DescriptionThe Railcar Laborer is expected to assist in all areas as needed, performing a wide range of tasks to assist in loading/unloading & the cleaning of railcars. They must ensure all company guidelines are met and all safety rules are followed when performing duties. Working safely and maintaining a safe work area are top priorities for this position.Major Areas of ResponsibilityFollow direction and accomplish assigned tasks within time standards with minimal supervisionUse a variety of tools safely and proficiently, including, but not limited to pneumatic toolsAssist team members with completing their tasks, varying by the tasks at handDaily assistance with housekeeping (both indoors and outdoors) including mowing & weed removalLearn, comprehend, and apply all new hire, safety, and on-the-job training for all departmentsLearn, comprehend, and apply OSHA, EPA, & FRA, customer, and company requirementsInteract professionally with crew members and management in a team environmentComply with all safety and environmental health policiesPractice proper housekeeping by ensuring a clean work areaEnsure OT-Granite and customer quality assurance standards are metMinimum QualificationsAbility to read and write English at a high school levelDependable and consistent attendance/punctualityWillingness and ability to learn to use mobile equipment pumping equipment and tools required to load, unload & transfer materials from railcar tank trucks; as well as equipment to clean railcars.Perform/prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detailsAbility to follow oral and written instructionsBasic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measureWork in hot and cold environment, in and out of the weather; work safely around heavy equipment and on top of, inside, & under railcars, as well as around railroad tracksValid regular Driver's LicenseWork RequirementsAbility to work in conditions that include loud noise, fumes, dirt, and heavy equipment in motionAbility to transverse and work on uneven surfacesAbility to distinguish auditory signals with trainingAbility to change easily from one task to another (varying in nature) and deal with competing demandsAbility to work in tight spaces, under railcars, track equipment, locomotives, vehicles, etc.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: steel toe boots, eye protection, ear plus, gloves, hot work PPE, and fall protection respiratorsAbility to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to: lifting (up to 70lbs), sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shouldersBenefits offered:Paid time offHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealthcare spending reimbursement account- HSACompany Paid STD, LTD, and Life Insurance401K with MatchWe look forward to receiving your application!Omaha Track, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
