Position Summary:

Must have strong product or food knowledge and be able to help provide advice and assist customers in selecting the right products for their eating enjoyment. Must have an enthusiastic and pleasant disposition. Handling of several items with more than one customer is at times required during busy hours of operation.

Specific Responsibilities:

Welcomes customers by greeting them as they come through the door and offering them assistance.

Direct customers to the location of the product needed or ask open-ended questions to lead complementary sales. Offer suggestions and opinions to assist the customer making a purchase decision.

Advise customers by providing information on products, flavor profiles, uses as well as provide samples when needed.

Build a relationship with clients by creating and updating customer profile records.

Process payments utilizing a POS system by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and credit cards.

Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.

Contributes to team effort by assisting in all areas where needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Prior retail sales experience of one or more years preferably in the retail food industry.

Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Must have knowledge of working with numbers, calculators, and cash registers

No prior records of theft or other felonies.

Strong communications skills including verbal and listening, be able to multi-task, be dependable, and the ability to increase sales through being proactive every day.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

Must have the ability to make coordinated movement of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble large and small objects

Must be able to stand for entire shifts with periodic, bending, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day

Must be able to safely walk and work around machinery and knives

Must be able to wear a hairnet, latex gloves, hearing protection, as well as any other PPE
