Apply now » Date: Jun 10, 2024 Location: St. Louis, MO, US, 63146 Company: Hubbell Incorporated Job Overview Reporting to Sourcing Manager, the Buyer role is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing and supply chain strategies to support ongoing customer RFP’s. Develop and keep records/files pertaining to supplier qualifications and work closely with the Proposals team to address customer questions/concerns within AMI Network RFP’s. The Buyer will be called upon to manage supplier onboarding & maintenance, grow the supplier base, drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and collaborate internally to achieve desired business outcomes. Requires a solid foundation of function skills and knowledge in relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts. A Day In The Life

Identify, validate, and support onboarding of new suppliers/vendors both domestically and internationally

Maintain relationships and performance of existing suppliers and take action as the need arises.

Liaison between sales, suppliers, and operations to ensure the customer’s needs are met on a timely basis.

Assist in the resolution of supplier quality and payment issues with both internal departments and the supplier.

Identify sources of supply, seek out the lowest total cost alternatives and develop solid working relationships with suppliers.

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts and agreements.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Bachelors Degree Preferred, but not required

3-5 years of purchasing and/or manufacturing environment experience.

Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong experience working with MRP systems; SAP highly preferred.

Must be a team player.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
