Established law firm currently has an opening for a Full Time Legal Assistant with at least a High School degree and 1-3 years education or related experience. This position will require an individual who is well-spoken, professional, organized, and able to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously. The individual must have strong customer service experience and the ability to work as part of a team. Normal business hours are M-F 8-5.

Job Duties:

Keeps client matters organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; documenting actions; inputting information into CaseNet and matter management software; confirming case status with attorney.

Conducts regular reviews of client files to ensure client matters are handled in a timely manner, meeting deadlines, and billed at appropriate times.

Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating status updates as directed by attorney.

Ability to prepare accounting spreadsheets for Probate Court and trust administrations.

Communicates regularly with attorney to prioritize tasks, ensure progress, and meet deadlines.

Communicates with established and new clients, attorneys, staff members, city/county/state office administrators, governmental institutions, insurance companies, and financial institutions.

Capable of researching government and other databases for legal research and reporting.

Assists staff as necessary to prepare materials for mediation conferences; organize and assemble materials for team case review; prepare exhibits.

Attorney Support:

Manages attorney’s personal and professional calendar; scheduling of appointments, in-person and telephone conferences, and continuing legal education hours.

Provides the first point of contact with clients.

Assists with conference room set-up for electronic and tele-conferencing.

Legal Assistant Skills and Qualifications:

Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook), Research Skills, Organization Skills, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Client Confidentiality, Willingness to Learn, Professional, Courteous, Multi-Tasking, Attention to Details, Legal Administration Skills a plus but not required.
