Position Title: Service Technician
Wage: $16-$17/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday; Flexible hours may be required

As a Service Technician specializing in furnace and ductwork cleaning, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heating systems while maintaining clean and well-functioning ductwork. Your primary objective is to deliver high-quality service to clients, promoting a healthy indoor environment, and maximizing the performance of heating systems.
Service Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough inspections of furnaces to identify issues, malfunctions, or potential problems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to optimize furnace efficiency and prolong its lifespan
- Replace or repair defective components as needed
- Utilize specialized equipment to clean ductwork and ventilation systems
- Remove dust, debris, and contaminants from ducts to improve indoor air quality
- Inspect ducts for leaks, blockages, or other issues that may hinder proper airflow
- Diagnose and troubleshoot heating system problems, including issues with thermostats, fans, and control units
- Implement corrective actions to address identified problems promptly
- Communicate with clients to explain the scope of work, potential issues, and recommended solutions
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the services provided
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including inspections, cleanings, and repairs
- Prepare detailed service reports for clients and internal records
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures during service operations
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and new technologies related to heating systems and ductwork cleaning
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge
Service Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in HVAC systems preferred
- Proven experience as a service technician, with a focus on furnace and ductwork cleaning
- Strong knowledge of heating systems, ventilation, and ductwork components
- Ability to use and maintain specialized equipment for duct cleaning
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces when necessary
- May need to work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment
- Flexible working hours may be required, especially during peak seasons or emergency service calls
- May travel up to 12-15 times a year; per diem and travel expenses are taken care of; will always know well in advance except for the occasional emergency
- Willing to get Class E license to drive company vehicles
