Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $18.73-$21.73/hour, $1.50 shift differential for 2nd shift and $1.50 shift differential for 3rd shift

Shift: 2nd, 3rd (Will train on 1st shift for a couple of week and then move to 2nd or 3rd shift)

Hours: 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am

QPS Employment Group is hiring Machine Operators for a company in Springfield, MO. These are contract to hire roles.

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Check the schedule for the production priorities and demands

- Setup the machine according to production needs and gather materials that are needed

- Visually check the belts for defects or poor quality as it comes down

- Fill out appropriate belt/production tickets for each load of belts

- Solve routine technical problems

- Comply with all policies and procedures while maintaining a clean work environment

- Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety and health policies

- Willing and able to work any shift

- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed

- Other duties as assigned

Machine Operator Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED (validation is required)

- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms

- Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, rate, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form

- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability

- Frequently stand, sit, and use hands/arms

- Regularly talk, hear at conversational level, and smell

- Occasionally walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

- Regularly lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs

- Move/lift greater than 50lbs with assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist

- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts

- Frequently exposed to chemicals, hot/cold conditions, or noisy conditions

- Wear proper safety eyewear and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor
