Description We are offering a contract for a Legal Assistant role in Springfield, Illinois. As a crucial member of our legal team, you will be managing a variety of administrative tasks, including handling legal documents, coordinating meetings, and overseeing court schedules. Responsibilities: Manage the scanning and filing of legal documents regularly to maintain well-organized records. Assist in the preparation of pleadings to facilitate the legal process. Efficiently coordinate and schedule court appearances to ensure seamless legal operations. Organize client meetings, ensuring effective communication and client relations. Utilize your experience with Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw in executing tasks. Effectively handle billing functions and claim administration. Meticulously manage the calendar, keeping track of important dates and deadlines. Maintain excellent client relations, promptly and professionally addressing client inquiries and concerns. Exhibit strong communication skills, ensuring clear and effective internal and external communication. Requirements Proficiency in Aderant, a widely-used legal practice management software. Ability to use Adobe Acrobat for document creation, editing, and management. Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for real estate transaction management. Proficient in using Case Management Software to handle legal cases efficiently. Experience in CompuLaw for managing deadlines and mitigating risks. Knowledge of Billing Functions within a legal context, including invoice creation and tracking payments. Expertise in Calendar Management to schedule and track appointments, court dates, and deadlines. Experience in Claim Administration, including filing, tracking, and managing legal claims. Strong Client Relations skills to maintain and develop relationships with clients. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey legal information.
