Your Impact:We are seeking an Expert Data Scientist to support our prime federal program in Springfield, Virginia. As an Expert Data Scientist, you will support an exciting National Security mission to position NGA to be the enterprise and community GEOINT data provider, improving the way analysts, customers, and end users access, discover, stage, link, produce, re-integrate, and deliver intelligence. You will work with talented developers and colleagues, gaining exposure to industry best practices such as AWS cloud solutions.Responsibilities:

Knowledge and experience with data management, transformation, visualization, analysis, and organization tools and techniques
Knowledge and experience with Search tools, Search results organization and the implications of metadata organization, indexing, catalog content
Overall Data Wrangler - ability to demonstrate organized structure for data when there appears to be none due to differences in data types and sources
Interdisciplinary bridge builder who understands the Internet, databases, analytics, visualization, and data curation
Ability to categorize the data and metadata to build the metadata application profile.
Knowledge of metadata standards
Recognized as Subject Matter Expert for work with Information/Library Science
Experience in GIS-related applications
Experience with using scripting languages to conduct common data analysis tasks for exploration, conditioning, and advanced analytics
Knowledge of visual programming or object-oriented modeling workflows to automate data acquisition
Ability to manipulate data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
Ability to identify and appropriately evaluate a wide range of existing methods, models and algorithms in familiar domains for a variety of mission driven problems while recognizing the capabilities and limitations of each method
Deep knowledge and experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
Experience with Intelligence Community, DoD, and / or Federal Government imagery systems to include tasking, processing, exploitatiokyln, analysis, and writing imagery reports using GEOINT “Geospatial” imagery data and products, to include raster and vector data types.
Experience in meeting requirements on scheduled collaborative work with other organizations in a fast-paced and/or constantly changing environment.
Experience analyzing imagery and “spatial” data from many sources (structured and unstructured) and incorporating it into visual displays of essential information for use in national defense, homeland security, and safety of navigation.
Experience with maintaining and building tasking strategies, and analyzing and interpret imagery to support U.S. military and policymaker interests.
Experience analyzing the activities and interests of countries, regions, and non-state entities, as well as the impact of natural and man-made disasters. In addition, conducting multi-GEOINT research, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products and user story briefs for leadership.
GIS “spatial” data management tools
Experience with Esri ArcGIS.

Master’s degree plus 4 years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ experience, Associates degree plus 12 years’ experience, or a minimum of 15 years’ experience, in relevant field
