Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the overall safety, welfare, and rights of individuals served, maintaining a warm and conflict-free atmosphere

Comply with licensing and certification requirements, exceeding standards whenever possible

Facilitate incidental teaching for Direct Support Professionals and generate daily activity schedules

Participate in Individual Support Plan meetings and RN visits to uphold individual rights

Train staff on clients' medical needs, preferences, and compliance, ensuring awareness of medications and potential side effects

Oversee residential documentation, including daily notes, goals, and health tracking

Conduct audits and accurate, timely documentation of authorized services and supports

Regularly review the physical condition of homes, ensuring health, safety, and cleanliness standards are met

Maintain safety kits and review Medication Administration Records (MARs) for compliance

Respond to calls 24/7, make coverage arrangements during absences, and cover open shifts as needed

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent is required

One year of experience working in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities or successful completion of training in the Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of Development Disabilities regional office required

Additional Qualifications:

Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures

Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence

Effective communication skills for interaction with residents, employees, family members, and other contacts, using person-centered language

Problem-solving skills for addressing issues in standardized situations with multiple variables

Competency in basic mathematical operations

Reliable means of communication

Strong reading and comprehension skills

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect

Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
