Description This reputable company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties Requirements - Strong communication and social skills

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Quality experience with Sage 100

Earlier work involving System Implementation

Practical knowledge of Improve Efficiency

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

Wide ranging experience with general ledger

Solid understanding of month end closings

Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)

Well-founded grasp of Process Improvement

Financial statement preparation experience preferred

Experience with payroll

General familiarity with Efficient Processing

Proven knowledge of budgeting

CPA/MBA preferred

Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
