DT Engineering is a full-service engineering, manufacturing and system integrator providing automation technologies and systems, tooling, fixtures, dies, and logistics, for its global customer base.The Designer examines the quotation, estimate of hours and materials, purchase orders, sketches, standards, and specifications to interpret the design requirements for the customer and creates a workable tool/die design.
Using Solidworks software, creates a tool/die design along with plan views, cross-sections, details, and bill of material to satisfy customer requirements.
Follows the project in the build stage and advises the Leader as questions/problems arise.
Concepts all types of tools/dies, checks other designs, updates previous designs, and authors engineering changes as requested by the Estimator or customer.
Confers with the customer, engineering staff, and project leaders during the project's progress and recommends design modifications to malfunctions.
Travels to customer location to evaluate manufacturing processes, assist in installation, or design auxiliary items on site. 10% travel
Qualifications:
Ten years of design/toolmaker experience in tool and die.
Good working knowledge of GDandT principles.
Comprehensive knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and drafting principles.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of tool design.
Prior experience or training in 3D CAD is helpful.
