Shop Supervisor

Omaha Track Equipment, an established Omaha based company, is expanding again! We are continuing to grow at our New Kansas City, MO Equipment Shop. We are seeking an experienced Shop Supervisor to join our growing organization in the fast-paced heavy equipment industry. If you are looking to learn new skill sets and grow your career in the Maintenance of Way (MOW) industry, we have just the opportunity for you!Position DescriptionThe Shop Supervisor manages the staff, equipment, and tasks required to ensure all products are manufactured correctly and efficiently, in a cost-effective manner, on-time, in accordance with build specifications and quality requirements. This position will be responsible for reinforcing a strong culture of safety and ensuring performance goals are met.Major Areas of Responsibility Coordinate with management to ensure a thorough understanding of proposed manufacturing projects, timelines, priorities, resources, and budget requirements. Plan, schedule and review the workload to ensure production output will meet objectives Work closely with Inventory and Purchasing to ensure required materials are available for Production when needed Take responsibility for all process control as well as QA Take a hands-on approach to assisting shop employees Maintain the production log sheets and quality audits to ensure they are submitted for system entry Provide and track appropriate training opportunities for team members to include equipment operation training, safety training, computer skills training as necessary, and thorough training in all company policies and procedures Enforce and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as all federal, state, and local employment and safety statutes Maintain Production Department staff performance results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results and motivating the team Make safety a priority consideration with all actions taken within the department. Maintain the physical condition of the production area and machinery by inspecting equipment; maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness by enforcing 5S procedures Qualifications & Requirements High School diploma or equivalent is desired Approximately 5 years’ experience in industrial equipment repair or manufacturing Experience as a supervisor is preferred A solid background and experience in the railroad industry, technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication skills are highly valued and is preferred Demonstrated ability utilizing problem-solving skills, within a production environment, preferred Must have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of management & subject matter experts Knowledge of repair operations including safety, quality, productivity, inventory management, equipment reliability, scheduling, shift staffing, and environmental compliance Benefits offered:Paid time offHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealthcare SavingsAccount- HSACompany Paid Short-term & Long-term disability, and Life Insurance401K with MatchWe look forward to receiving your application!Omaha Track, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
