Job Purpose:
Our Equipment Service Technician will be responsible for installing and repairing worn or defective equipment at customer sites by following blueprints, manufacturer’s instructions and utilizing knowledge of mechanical hydraulic and electrical machinery. This position will also operate equipment through trial runs to ensure that quality and rate of production meet specifications.
Job Responsibilities:
● Perform repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealing, case erectors, label printer/applicators, strapping equipment and assorted products at customer and Veritiv company sites.
● Support systems integration with customers, manufacturers, suppliers and other service personnel involving machine problems and/or turn-key systems.
● Perform a variety of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics and electro-mechanical tests, repair and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
● Conduct setup calibration, testing, mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting of circuits, components and instruments using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
● Provide subject matter expertise, trainings and product demonstrations of Veritiv packaging systems and related equipment if needed.
● Generate quotes and estimates for preventative and planned maintenance of machines.
● Complete field service work orders including billing of travel, labor hours, parts and other related items in a timely and accurate manner.
