The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. You'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Pay rate: $19.21/hr. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium when working over 60 hours in 2 week pay period, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Time, Paid Federal Holidays Plus One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position requires a background security check including 5 year questionnaire, fingerprinting and identification verification prior to start. Applicants must live within commutable distance to Lenexa, KS and be willing and able to work onsite in the EPA office as scheduled.

This position will provide independent program support across the Superfund and Emergency Management Division (SEMD). Develops and follows written guidance for the SEMD Immediate Office. Provides editing and processing services for technical and scientific materials and correspondence. Supports the scientific and response work of three discrete technical branches within SEMD. Position requires strong independent writing, editing, analytical, programmatic and organizational skills with an emphasis on detail.

- Editing, processing and developing a wide variety of technical and scientific correspondence, reports, records, briefing materials, and statistical and narrative material that support the programmatic decisions for EPA Superfund environmental remediation activities. These materials are intended to formally document Agency activities or provide information to the public regarding scientific and regulatory decision making.

- Interpreting and communicating Agency guidance in order to formulate administrative and program related plans and procedures and advise divisional staff.

- Supporting the programmatic needs of scientific and emergency response staff and managers in three discrete technical branches within SEMD.
