Come join us and be a part of this exciting and incredible growth!Role Overview The Retirement Solutions Group at SS&C is currently hiring a Director of Software Engineering. You will work with a wide array of technologies and languages. You will be responsible for directing the activities of multiple agile development teams while ensuring software solutions are delivered on time with high quality.Responsibilities- Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.
- Manage activities for multiple scrum teams.
- Partner with product owners to develop roadmaps.
- Implement and/or maintain software development best practices including code reviews and automated testing.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and architecture direction.
- Ensure adherence to security standards and best practices.
- 10+ years of combined application development and management experience.
- Engineering degree, related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- A solid foundation in object-oriented and cloud native design.
- Experience leading delivery of cloud-native applications.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Vue.js, Angular, or React).
- Experience in writing HTTP services in higher-level languages (e.g. Java/Spring, Go).
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Kafka, Rabbit MQ or other event based integration technologies.
- Experience learning new open source software, APIs and frameworks.
- Exposure to automated testing, modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiar with bash, Git, Jira, and agile methodologies
- Retirement or other financial services industry experience.
- Experience working with and maintaining a community around open source software.
- Desire to evangelize Developer Culture and lead change within the organization.
- Experience with COBOL and zOS from the perspective platform modernization.
