Our client is an international powerhouse in their industry, and they are looking for an Application Programmer to join a team of dynamic professionals in the Kansas City, MO area. This contract position is for 6 months with the strong potential to extend and possible hire. As an Application Programmer, your primary role will be production support with an opportunity to perform application development. This is a remote position until client reopens post-Pandemic. When client reopens - candidate is required to be onsite M-FResponsibilities of the Application Programmer:- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents and problems for critical applications. - Support incident analysis using common investigation methodologies, application logs, application tracing, data analysis, and SQL queries. - Use advanced communication skills to work with subject matter experts during incidents in crisis mode. - Understand the application development lifecycle including analysis, design, testing, and production validation. - May interact with users to define system requirements and in support of user acceptance testing. - This role involves on-call support during non-business hours and holidays on a rotational basis.Qualifications of the Application Programmer:- 3+ years' work experience as an incident/problem analyst and application - 3+ years of experience as an administrator- System monitoring and alert management experience- Incident investigation skills and methodology - Intermediate skills with standard desktop tools including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), and ticket management applications (Service Now or similar applications) - Proficient skills using SQL Queries - Proficient in EnglishPreferred Skills of the Application Programmer:- Experience with IBM MQ, Microfocus, Control M, VB6, DB2 Education: - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent Skills and Experience PLEASE NOTE: Due to federal government requirements, must be a US Citizen or Green Card HolderWe CAN NOT accept 3rd party candidatesWe are unable to sponsor or transfer visas Only candidates closely matching the client's required qualifications and experience will receive a reply We are the experts that professionals turn to for direct access to challenging and rewarding jobs in their field, many of which are unadvertised.
