The Elms Hotel & Spa is looking for a creative and motivated individual to join our Culinary team as a Line Cook. Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment and a passion for creating menus that reflect seasonal availability and the restaurant's concept. As a Line Cook, you will assist the Chef in the production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. You will maintain a passive leadership role in ensuring adequate production levels from the kitchen staff. In this role, you will develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods, such as grilling, sautéing, and frying. You will have the opportunity to use knives and various kitchen equipment, follow and recreate recipes, and ensure consistency in all food preparation. You will learn how to minimize food waste through cross-utilization and work with a world-class culinary team. Additionally, you will create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment, prepare ingredients for cooking, maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment, ensure proper storage of all food and other items, and be responsible for the quality of ingredients.ResponsibilitiesTo succeed as a Line Cook, you should have an active Food Handler’s certification or the ability to obtain one. You must be willing to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts, showcasing your flexibility and commitment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are essential. You should have the physical capability to be on your feet for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds. A desire to exceed expectations and an energetic personality will set you apart.
