Honeywell FM&T’s culture of integrity, commitment and continuous improvement enables them to deliver responsive, collaborative, and innovative management and technology services and products that translate into cutting edge solutions to complex national security issues.This position will be in Kansas City, MOPrimary Responsibilities:The Sr. Software Engineer in Test Engineering utilizes a combination of both electrical engineering and software engineering disciplines to plan, lead, troubleshoot and qualify test systems. This position involves interacting with internal and external customers to understand requirements, architecture, software development, and deliverables to facilitate the completion of projects. The Sr. Software Engineer will also be responsible for leading internal teams in the identification, assignment, review and execution of project tasks.

Prepares comprehensive proposals and cost estimates, evaluates progress and results, recommends, and directs the implementation of test system.

Utilizes a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) provides advice on options, risks, and cost vs. benefits.

Designs and codes complicated software used to control instrumentation, perform data analysis, and generate reports.

Create various diagrams, flowcharts and models that illustrate the type of code needed for programmers.

Generates software documentation and coordinates verification and validation testing of software to assure all testing requirements are met.

Ensures projects follow the established development life cycle to meet industry computing standards and organizational guidelines.

Interacts with, and presents to, design agencies and suppliers on project status and technical details.

Coordinates with stakeholders to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues.

Research, recommend, and develop innovative solutions to streamline the development process, utilizing industry technologies and best practices to resolve processing and design problems.

Evaluates opportunities for defect prevention based on standard or accepted technical practices and recommends preventive corrective actions.

You Must Have:

Bachelor of Science degree from in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program.

Six or more years of relevant experience in engineering or related technical activities.

Ability obtain and maintain Department of Energy Q-Level Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.

We Value:

Familiarity with source control systems, such as Git, SVN, etc.

Experience with .NET ecosystem (C#, VB, F#) for local applications interacting with physical hardware.

Knowledge of automated test equipment such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, etc.

Knowledge of CI/CD, GitLab and unit testing.

Ability to lead and prioritize multiple Tester development and troubleshooting activities.

Ability to communicate with the design agency, PRT, and internal staff.

Demonstrated application of advanced engineering and analytical concepts and techniques to complex technical projects.

Demonstrated working without supervision and to provide technical consultation and guidance to others.
