Our Safety Consulting Practice is searching for a Safety Consultant to join our team in Topeka or Lawrence, Kansas Position Overview Our Safety Consultants deliver high value added services such as Safety training and inspections designed to help our clients lower their operating risk profile and receive the most favorable risk management solutions and pricing from carriers due to their commitment to safe work sites. Primary Responsibilities
Develop safety training lesson plan content and deliver training programs at various client sites around the region (travel is required as well as a willingness to start early as a majority of our sessions are offered before the start of a typical workday)
Create technical content and d eliver engaging regulatory compliance training to our clients' personnel for new hire safety orientations and annual OSHA required training programs
Conduct onsite safety inspections / audits, document findings and create management presentations to report the findings
Evaluate outcomes and continuously improve future workshops and safety consulting related services
Develop, implement, and evaluate clients' written safety programs in partnership with management
Write safety and health programs
Serve as a resource to management and employees on interpretation and compliance
Engage and influence management to help develop their responsibility and leadership in safety.
Qualifications
Must be a dynamic, engaging, outgoing trainer / educator with excellent communication skills
Mustbe proficient in the creation and delivery of presentations using powerpoint and related presentation technology
Must be technically competent and comfortable delivering training on the following topics:
Confined Space Safety
Fall Protection
First aid/CPR/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens
Forklift Certification
Lockout/tagout
Excavation/Trenching
Scaffold Safety
MEWP Certification
Fire Safety
Chemical Safety and Hazard Communication
Personal Protective Equipment
Rigging and Material Handling
Ladder Safety
Proficient in the OSHA, DOT and MSHA safety regulations that apply to different industries.
A commitment to continuous learning and maintaining up to dateknowledge of current safety regulations
Proficiency in conducting jobsite safety inspections for both construction and general industry sites using an inspection app
Understanding ofworkers compensation and how it impacts our clients financial performance
Able to work at various heights and deal with exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes or gases andchanges in the weather
Valid, clean driver’s license, insurance andreliable transportation arerequired
The abilityto work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members and clients
A self-motivated and driven personality
A sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance
The ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information
