Deal, let’s go!The role.The production supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and manufacturing activities within the Motor, Transformer, and Machining repair business in a unionized site. Coordinates necessary outside services such as rigging and transportation companies. Ensures that safety requirements, manufacturing quality, job timeliness, cost effectiveness are followed. Maintains communication with customers on job progress Meets or improves on planned product/system cost standards and expense budgets. Serves as a backup to the sales team to develop and issue quotations for new work to be performed from customer specifics.Responsibilities: Ensure all safety requirements for both OSHA and site specific are adhered to. Conduct required OSHA and company required safety training, weekly safety audits and daily safety talks with departments. Assign organization and housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the repair shop, overseeing approximately 10 - 20 hourly, unionized manufacturing personnel. Set and manage daily priorities and productivity for the team, translating project objectives into clear and detailed activities for repair technicians. Manage the repair shop workflow to ensure all motor repair timelines are met, all repair activities are completed within the quoted budget for the job. Hold employees accountable to quality standards and ensure all repair documentation has been completed and uploaded into the system before the service equipment is shipped. Defines workflow, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness and meet repair service initiatives and facility KPIs. Review repair service inspections and provide change order estimates on jobs where additional problems are discovered. Evaluate and recommend improvements in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility. Identifies equipment and people resource needs and develop justification to support the recommendation. Ensures shop processes are followed, receives deviation requests, and looks for process improvement ideas to support facility continuous improvement initiatives. Drive employee performance, address personnel problems, and execute the disciplinary process. As part of a team, participate in monthly labor meetings, grievance meetings and contract negotiations. Enter timesheets into the payroll system to prepare for weekly payroll processing. Assists in training employees and document training progress.Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

Associate degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent. Equivalent experience with a High School Diploma/GED will be considered.

3-5 years of experience working in a directly related field, preferably in a repair center setting.

1-2 years of supervisory experience or leading people, preferably in a union environment.

Working knowledge in motor work and machining, including motor winding, motor assembly, manual lathes, manual grinders, MIG, TIG and Stick Welding and AWS standards.

Understanding of Lean principles and practices.

Read and Interpret Blueprints.

Knowledge of machine finishes and runout.

Understand tolerances, both Metric and Standard measurement systems.

Experience with various types of measuring equipment: Micrometers, Calipers, Thread gauges, etc.

Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

SAP experience a plus.

The pay range for this position is $71,300-$122,300.
