Role: Hadoop Developer Location: Kansas City, MO / Remote Duration: 6+ months Required Skills:
- Referable experience as Hadoop Developer or Big Data Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem, APIs and its components
- Designing and coding Hadoop applications to analyze data collections
- Good experience with Kafka/ Scala is required
- Ability to write complex SQL queries needed to query & analyze data
- Experience in creation of scripts to manipulate files within HDFS is preferred
- Knowledge of data transfer and ingestion technologies including
- Evaluate existing data solutions, write scalable ETLs, & develop documentation
- Knowledge of data management standards, and data governance practices
- Knowledge of high-level programming skills including JavaScript & Node.JS
- Familiarity with Oozie, MapReduce and Pig Latin Scripts
- Testing scripts and analyzing results
- Develop data quality and validation routines
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills to interact with business users and external vendors.
