Growing together.Optum Community programs focus on offering our members and guests a diverse array of physical, intellectual, social, and emotional wellness activities. It is the goal of this group to keep our members active at whatever their functional capacity with classes and individual exercise programs. The Community Center Coordinator is key to this goal by establishing and continuously evaluating a calendar of activities to meet the overall needs of the participants. It is their responsibility to manage the relationship with the instructors leading the activities and to oversee safe practices for participants using the exercise equipment. They will also be responsible for engaging the surrounding community to attract new members to the program.Primary Responsibilities:

Interact with participants to create a welcoming atmosphere

Ensure activities are scheduled to meet the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional needs of participants

Lead activities and classes as needed

Manage relationships with contracted instructors

Engage surrounding community to attract new participants to programs

Maintain safe environment

High School Diploma/GED

Certified Fitness Instructor or other Fitness Certification or other musculoskeletal physiology training

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

CPR/AED Certified

Experience with geriatric community

Experience planning community events (art, fitness, social events, wellness)

Proven excellent interpersonal communication
