Description We are seeking a Director of Finance based in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves overseeing all financial and business planning activities, including managing the organization's financial processes and procedures. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in financial planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis, as well as managing the annual audit and overseeing all accounting functions. Review and analyze financial reports and provide forecasting and budget projections. Establish and maintain controls and safeguards for receipts of revenue, costs, and actual expenditures. Manage cash flow forecasting and assess the financial efficacy of program operations. Establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations. Routinely analyze financial data and prepare monthly financial statements for the finance committee and department leaders. Direct all activities relative to accounts payable and receivable as well as tuition collections. Provide comprehensive oversight and monitoring of the organization’s financial operations. Develop and direct execution of operations policies and procedures. Oversee all accounting functions necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset, property management, and payroll in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures, and all other applicable rules and guidelines. Oversee all financial, project/program, and grant accounting to ensure that all expenditures are aligned with grant and program budgets through the grant/fund period. Assist with the management of Grants and contacts by negotiating agreement terms that reflect the needs of the organization, coordinate with legal advisors to finalize agreement terms; monitor progress of agreements and maintain agreement documentation to ensure fulfillment of agreement terms including receipt and expenditure of funds.Requirements Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. The candidate should have experience with Audit Preparation. Education or Non-Profit experience is essential. Expertise in Grant Accounting is required. Proficiency in QuickBooks is necessary. The ability to prepare Financial Statements is a must. Experience in developing Cash Flow Forecasts is required. The candidate should have a strong ethical framework and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong leadership and communication skills are a must. The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification would be advantageous. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is required. The candidate should have excellent analytical and strategic planning skills. Experience in budgeting and financial forecasting is necessary. The candidate should be able to make decisions based on data and analytics. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
