Salary: $19.51/hour

What You’d Do
Assist the public in using various computer hardware and software in the Library’s computer lab.
Instruct patrons in a one-to-one or small group setting on technology skills.
Perform basic computer maintenance including cleaning of hardware.
Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
You Need
Strong commitment to positive and polite customer service; ability to multitask and prioritize customer requests.
Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with staff and public using technology.
Knowledge of: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software; web applications including: social media, email, and online forms; and mobile devices using a variety of operating systems including Apple/iOS, Android OS, Windows Phone, and webOS.
Experience working with underserved populations; and desire and ability to instruct in both a group and one-to-one setting.
The ability to perform many duties while standing and bending and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to speak and understand English is required. Additional consideration may be given to individuals that are fluent in any non-English languages spoken in the Kansas City area including Somali, Swahili, Spanish, Arabic, French, Dari, Pashto, and Vietnamese.
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree and experience working in a computer lab setting. This qualification can also be met by an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and life experiences.
