Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT standards. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel trucks and trailers (brakes, tires, lights, fluids, etc.).
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
· Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, cooling systems, exhaust, suspension, and other key components.
· Ensure all work is performed in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, services, and repairs.
· Identify worn or damaged parts and perform necessary replacements.
· Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
· Work collaboratively with dispatch, drivers, and operations to prioritize urgent repairs.
· Keep shop tools and equipment maintained and in good working order.
· Assist in managing parts inventory and ordering supplies.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician.
· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, trailer systems, and diagnostic equipment.
· Familiarity with DOT regulations and inspection procedures.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
· CDL (preferred but not required).
