MUST BE DESE CERTIFIED SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Must have a valid Counseling certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Secondary Certification required, K-12 Certification preferred). Candidate with 3+ years of experience preferred Must have excellent human relations skills.Will serve as a contact person in the school for the parentMust have the ability to perform multi-tasks with good organizational ability.Responsible for implementing the District School Counseling Curriculum based on building needs assessment results.Work with students in a small group setting in the areas of self-esteem, decision-making, career awareness as well as other areas pertaining to personal, academic and social emotional development.Provide opportunities for student to evaluate themselves in relation to various career choices and assist in selecting educational programs appropriate to their needs, skills, and interests.Assist teachers in working with students who have individual needs and concerns in the classroom using RTI procedures, the Problem Solving Process, Care Team, or Data Team Meetings.Manage the testing program, including administering individual tests and interpreting the results to the students and parents.Assist in identifying students in need of special programs such as remedial reading, special education or gifted education.Experience in a multicultural setting.Assist students in making smooth transitions throughout educational career.Refer parents and students to appropriate community helping agencies as appropriate.Have involvement in the curriculum development and program evaluation activities of the staff.Elementary or Secondary teaching certificate and experience preferred.Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:
