The primary responsibilities are to lead plant discussions and investigations to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance. This is completed through data analysis, field measurements, and conversations with employees are able to diagnose issues and develop solutions. Supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.Roles and Responsibilities

Makes positive contributions to the plant safety activities and initiatives.

Provides technical support to the plants production, quality, and environmental functions.

Understands strategies, priorities, and optimization techniques and assist the plant in attainment of plant and Company objectives.

Evaluates operations, processes, and trends using audits and systematic approaches.

Provides technical support on implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures including training of plant personnel as required.

Serves as a coach/mentor to other departments.

Coordination and participation in improvement of the plant's technical capabilities.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), highlighting trends and areas for improvement.

Initiate process optimization in collaboration with quality, production, and maintenance to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant's equipment. This position has a requirement of elevating the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation.

Seen as a developmental position to provide a full spectrum exposure to cement plant operations. Successful incumbents may e considered for advancement opportunities into managerial positions.

Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violation of policy or law.

Challenge daily main equipment operations set points and practices in raw mix preparation, kiln operation, and finish grinding. Monitor and interpret the daily quality results. Work with plant cross functional personnel, diagnose process incidents in the field and determine root causes. Optimize daily process by proposing modifications to the process parameters at all states of the cement manufacturing process.

Analyze process records and create daily reporting using IP21 and other process tools.

Organize and complete audits of raw mill, pyro processing, and finish griding in autonomy. Identify deviations in process operations and propose/validate corrective actions.

Interface with vendors, contractors, and engineering firms whose functions are to provide project support with engineering and technical know-how associated with capital project installations. Work with equipment designers/manufactures in the determination of equipment specifications for plant improvement and expansion projects.

Develop process and manufacturing improvement proposals.

Establish, monitor, and maintain standard operation procedures needed to solve typical processes and system problems encountered at the plant.

Identify environmental constraints and impact on operating permits associated with modification of process, fuels, and/or raw material changes.

Maintain a database containing the "base line" capabilities of all current equipment and processes.

Promotes new ideas and technologies in the process.

Coordinate process related activities occurring at the plant.

Maintains compliance with MSHA and environmental laws and regulations.

Assist Environmental Manager in management of plant issues (PSD, SWPPP, MACT, etc.) through record keeping, instrument maintenance, and testing.

Collaborates with control room operators, shift supervisors, managers, and corporate engineers to analyze problems and improve operations.

Other duties may be required and will be assigned as necessary.

Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in chemical engineers, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.MBA or relevant certification (CFA, CPA) and experience in a matrix organization strongly preferred.Must have a high level of integrity and commitment to comply with all applicable federal / state / industry compliance, regulations and standards.Must be a self-starter with strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to function in a fast-paced and evolving business.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.Strong Interpersonal capabilities with ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, while building rapport with team members across functions/operating units and influencing at all levels of the organizationAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites with accurate data entry skills.Due to the nature of this position, it is essential that the teammate be available to report to the designated work site / office and be ready to begin work when scheduled, in a 24/7 operation.Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.
