DescriptionTransportation:
Assist Transportation Driver with activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles. These activities include but not limited to the following:
Driving route on schedule each day and follow the route as mapped out.
If any deviation from the scheduled route the designated driver will notify supervisor.
If a route is delayed for any reason for more than 15 minutes, call supervisor immediately.
Read all individuals' Individual Support Plans (ISPs) to be aware of their support plans and transportation directives outlined in the ISP for those individuals that are passengers.
Responsible for the passengers with developmental disabilities that are transported from the time they are picked up at home or a program site until they are discharged from the vehicle into the care of the person receiving them. In this regard your duties may include any or all of the following:
Assist passenger(s) in preparation for the trip including helping the passenger(s) with coats and other articles;
Assist the passenger(s), if there are ambulation problems or wheelchair confinement, to and from the vehicle, into and out of the residence or program and assisting individual(s) with special needs if advised to do so by supervisor.
Assist the passenger(s) as they embark and/or disembark from the vehicle;
Embark and/or disembark wheelchair-bound or car seat passenger(s) in a safe and efficient manner;
Ensuring that all passenger(s) are secure during transportation either locked into their seat belts or in the case of wheelchair-bound passenger(s), the wheelchairs are securely locked into place in the vehicle with the use of a restraining straps;
Obtain knowledge of who the receiving person(s) is/are at the program site.
Obey all traffic laws and regulations and drive vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
Maintain order on vehicle at all times.
Accurately complete all designated forms and reports. Turn all forms into the office on the prescribed schedule.
Treat passenger(s), their parents/guardians, and program staff with respect and courtesy at all times.
In case of an accident, medical emergency or if the vehicle breaks down, notify the office immediately, using the vehicle's cellular phone. In the event of an accident, follow the procedures described in the MOPERM brochure In Case of an Accident.
Implement schedule and policy changes related to transportation.
Inspect each vehicle on a daily basis. If repairs are needed, follow the appropriate work order procedures to generate repairs.
Assist supervisor with necessary trainings for new employees related to transportation.
At the end of each month complete maintenance checklist and turn into the office.
General
Report to duty on time each day and if unable to report at the scheduled time, notify the Supervisor at least two hours, no later than one hour, before the expected start time of the job assignment.
Maintain CPR, First Aid, or other certifications deemed necessary for position
Complete timesheet on Paylocity for payroll processing
Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Driver and/or Supervisor.
