Eaton’s Bussmann Division is currently seeking a Manager, Application Engineering. This position is located at our Bussmann Division HQ location in Ellisville, MO. Relocation will be provided to candidates currently residing in the US/PR.The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The Manager, Application Engineering will lead the division from a product and application solutions standpoint. The purpose is to act as the technical leader guiding the direction and strategy of the Application Engineering team. The position works closely with marketing, product management, engineering and sales as the go-to expert on overcurrent protection and related industry knowledge pertaining to the divisional technical needs. They will develop technical marketing materials such as presentations, articles, white papers, hand books and similar material to support the overall financial objectives of the business.
Train customers on the benefits and application of Bussmann series products related to the proper application per the National Electrical Code (in Ellisville and in the field to support field sales efforts).
Provide technical product training and updates to both internal and external customers.
Establish as the subject matter expert or the “go-to” resource on overcurrent protection for the division and develop appropriate materials, technical articles, presentations and other training aids to support the division financial objectives.
Accumulates and fosters technical knowledge to stay on the cutting edge of expertise of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
Assist in training new Field Application Engineers, Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering personnel.
Actively writes and update Bussmann technical literature and application guides for Bussmann series products including the SPD Handbook, Code Change documents and other marketing material.
Work with product management and engineering when developing strategy for new products or product literature to leverage current Codes as well as upcoming changes.
Review all Marketing documents containing technical material for the division including datasheets, catalogs, sales aides and other related documents for new product launches or changes to existing documents and products.
Support the Director on deployment of the strategy and efforts by participating on Code panel activities and Product Standards such as UL technical standard committees as required by the division.
Support the Director on the deployment of the strategy to engage and support industry partners such as Electrical Training Alliance, IBEW, NECA, IAEI, IEEE, IEC and others.
Travel approximately 10% of the time.
Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, sales, application and/or installation of electrical equipment and distribution systems
Company sponsorship is not offered. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
PE license is preferred, but not required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in design or installation of electrical equipment and distribution systems
Skills:
Ability to engage in highly technical sales and training activities, strong presentation skills to small and large audiences
Ability to collaborate across Eaton divisions
Ability to develop relationships and proven track record of effectively influencing sales.
Highly motivated and proven goal oriented individual
A strategic mindset and ability to develop and execute a strategy for the application engineering team
Understanding of UL Standards and the National Electrical Code (NFPA70)
