Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half Finance & Accounting Contract Talent is currently seeking two Staff Accountants for our client. Initially, we are looking to fill one position, but there is room for two, depending on available candidates. This position has become available due to two recent resignations and a company acquisition, which has placed extra pressure on the existing accounting team.Position Overview:The Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling traditional accounting duties, assisting the current accountant and assistant controller during this busy time. You will play an important role in managing financial processes, reporting, and ensuring the company’s continued financial health as it navigates this transition period.Key Responsibilities:General Accounting Duties: Perform traditional staff accountant tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Financial Data Management: Ensure accurate recording and management of financial data in Solar Eclipse software.Support for the Accounting Team: Work alongside the current accountant and assistant controller to handle day-to-day accounting operations.Acquisition-Related Accounting: Assist with any accounting tasks related to the recent company acquisition.Qualifications:Experience: 0+ years of accounting experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply).Education: Accounting degree required.Software Skills: Familiarity with Solar Eclipse software is a plus, but training will be provided.Personality: Open to various backgrounds; ideal candidates will be team players willing to jump in and help where needed.Work Environment & Requirements:Location: Onsite.Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.Duration: Ongoing, with the potential to transition to a temp-to-hire position.Start Date: ASAP.Dress Code: Business Casual.If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this opportunity, please contact us at (314) 262-4344 to learn more. Requirements Must possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP) Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary Demonstrated ability to handle General Ledger tasks Familiarity with Journal Entries is essential Proficiency in performing Month End Close tasks Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary A degree in accounting or related field is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Knowledge of accounting software and systems is beneficial.
