[The Development Officer is responsible for developing and executing fundraising initiatives and programs to help achieve our organizations overall mission and goals. This position involves researching, prospecting, cultivating, and managing relationships with donors, as well as coordinating fundraising activities. The Development Officer ensures that the organizations development efforts are successful, and that donor support is maximized.[SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Research prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors.
Solicits donations on behalf of the agency to meet fundraising goals.
Plans and implements all fundraising and community events.
Works with Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator to recruit volunteers to fit identified roles using a variety of resources and techniques.
Gathers information about agency volunteers skills, availability, and goals.
Schedules, coordinates, and assign volunteers to appropriate agency assignments.
Train, when appropriate, volunteers on assigned duties.
Educate the community on the agency by making public appearances, speeches, etc.
Attending community and agency networking events.
Write, design, and implement communications in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Specialist.
Attend trade shows, community fairs, and other outreach events by staffing company booth.
Performs other related duties as assigned
